'CAIRNS'

After spending a day at Townsville we were straight off to Cairns.

Cairns was brilliant! Two words: the Woolshed and diving. That was it actually.

We stayed in the 'Parkview Backpackers' hostel and with that ticket we were able to get a divine meal (for the standards of a backpacker) at the Woolshed. It is a winning formula. I was in Cairns for 7 days and spent each night in the Woolshed. Every traveller seems to go there. People from all over the world. And if you are a man just like me you really like those Scandinavian girls who pass by...
The place was like a magnet, even though I wanted an early night I always got back at midnight or way more after midnight. Met some old acquaintances again...

In between we did a diving course as well. That was top. We met some real good people. Such as Erik the Viking, wonder where he comes from... He was my diving buddy. Had some good fun. He travelled with us for a while after that.
After the divinglessons at the pool we finally went to THE GREAT BARRIER REEF. It's unbelieveable. The world under water is even more beautiful than the one above. An exceptional highlight...

We did a trip to ATHERTON TABLELAND (Southwest of Cairns) with a group of people which was great as well. When you are around, take a day to see it. The way back through the inland was truely the most "Long and Winding Road' I have done.

After our diving course we went to see Cape Tribulation...
