<<<<<previous 'STANTHORPE' We left Brisbane for a while to work for a bit in Stanthorpe. With Mike as our driver, Johan, Joost and me went to Stanthorpe. It was about 2,5 hours driving. You go through some nice scenery of The Great Dividing Range. We had to stop as the engine was getting to hot as we went uphills. That happened more times... It was better this time. We didn't stay at a hostel, house, campsite or whatsoever, we had our own house now! We actually owned it for about a week. It was beautiful, everything was available; plates, tv, magazines, tea, just everything a normal house has. I had my own kingsize bed in my own room! And then there was this bath, the first thing I did was taking a bath, first one in 5 months!
We found a job in vegetables this time. Cutting lettuce. Man it was fucking hard. Bending - cutting - getting up - turn - throw - bending down again every 6 seconds and that for a whole day in a burning sun. Man, my legs were killing me the second morning. As that started to happen to Joost and Johan we quit. We simply couldn't move anymore. So that was that. Not a big succes either. But we had a beautiful house and we made it comfortable for ourselves, decent dinners as Mike cooked for us. Wrote 2 songs. One of them is called 'A Wiseman's Tale'. I found a melody in Brisbane and now it all fitted together, melody and words. Pretty proud of this one... The other one, 'lethargic', said it all for me that time... Read a lot too, was reading another book of Nigel Tranter 'the Bruce Trilogy'. It's about Robert the Bruce, the guy from Braveheart. A top book, after 'Lord of the Rings', probably the best book I have ever read.
We also went to the Granite Belt of GIRRAWEEN NATIONAL PARK. This was very beautiful.
