'WILSONS PROMONTORY NATIONAL PARK'

After Buchan Caves we were off to Wilson's Promontory, the most southerly point of mainland Australia. We had seen the most easterly point (Cape Byron) so it seemed ok to see this as well. This was one of those places you hear from the native people. I'm happy we followed their advice...

After a fun stop at 90-mile-beach where we almost got killed because Rob fell asleep behind the steeringwheel, Johan took over. Not bad driving for the first time and for Rob it was a welcome break as well as he fell asleep straight away..

We stayed at a good a clean campsite at Tidel River.

The next morning we had a beautiful walk through the bushes and the beaches along Norman Bay to Oberon Bay. It was beautiful, amazing that we never heard of this place before. It's definitely worthwihle paying a visit if you have time.

The second day we took on Mount Oberon, a steep walk (felt like 25%!). But it was worthwhile, you had a view all over the landslide. Tried to make a rounding picture from one point where you have the whole surrounding. Took me 8 pictures! Too much to show here. But Johan took some very beautiful panoramas...

After that it was my oppertunity to drive. It was really cool. Went alright as well actually. Except for that bird I (think) hit...

As I said Wilson's Promontory is a beautiful peninsula. The view from top of Mount Oberon is amazing. But that is not the only good thing!
Nice for a quiet moment to come to rest and enjoy nature...
