A lot of people think of the Colca Canyon, speaking about this big Peruvian city.
I just did not combine this for this journeystory, because it's really worth a visit by itself.
First of all, the Plaza des Armes is in my opinion the most beautifull one in Peru.
Well, at least for what I have seen of it ...
You have this beautifull church with snowwhite mountaintops raising up from behind.
And some nice bars and restaurants around the place
But there's more than only this beautifull plaza.
There's this Monasterio de Santa Catelina.
This is a Catolic monastery, which had been closed for the outside for nearly 400 years !
As I remember well it only has been openened for about 30 years or so.
This is due to the reason that inside the monks and nuns did not obey to well to the rules
and they might have thought that because nobody knows what the ( fuck :) ) they're doing in there ...
It's very nice to visit though.
Also really nice to visit is Juanita, one of world's best preserved mummies, named after the German Johan who discoverd her.
Apart form these cultural visits, there was also time for other things, like drinking for example ...
There are some nice bars near the Plaza
I recall that it was also the first time I phoned through internet.
I found it inovating and really great; why not using the line for telephoning while on the internet?...
But than there were these typical things of countries like Peru and Bolivia.
For example; when you take a taxi and you go down the hill, the drivers switch off there engine.
To safe petrol.
Ok.
And what if you driving towards a crossroad, who has the priority?...
Well, the one who claxons first.
First you get quite annoyed by all this clazoning, but in the end you get more used to it and you can even understand them ...
I also remember changing my guitarstrings.
Well, I wish I had done that at home.
I must say that I had been chasing a good set of guitarstrings throughout my journey ever since ...
But I still wrote some songs and I remember this nice melody created on my bed in Arequipa ... Interesting information he?...
