The big day
Again we were walking like a chain and as we got to the Gate of the Sun I missed out on one of the best pictures I could have taken :
Our friend German Aman was already having a torrid trip as he had problems carrying the weight of his backpack.
We though it was basically not well attached around his hips, so all the weight was on his sholders.
We mentioned, but it did not make a difference. Well, after another nearly 100% climb of a few meters you're at the Gate of the Sun and have the first view of Machu Picchu.
But what did Aman do when he got there?...
He dropped to the floor like a dead man.
Man, you have been on route for 3,5 days to finally get to see Machu Picchu, you get there and you drop down !!
All he had to do is lift his had an open his eyes !!
Man, this was as much as amazing as it was hilarious.
The view was great especially with the sunlight over it.
As we got down to the site we met with Jimmy again.
He had taken a train to come here.
Was cool to see him.
We went through a guided tour and it was amazing, there's so much to tell about it.
The geography of the site for exemple : Having an overview, you could see the city is in a shape of a Condor.
Parts of the site itself were also in shapes, one was a lizard

........ ................
There was also this stone, the Intihuatana.
This stone had four corners, with it and the shapes it created, they could know where was North, West, etc.
But also what's the Magnified North !
Amazing ...
They also have this model of stone of the mountain behind this model
We also climbed (or actually ran upto) Huayna Picchu, the pinacale mountain behind the city.
See picture below of this website.
Think it was a record time.
They take 50 or so minutes for it.
We've done it in 16.
Man, after the Inca trail, you're so fit.
I actually think I had't been as fit as this for more than 2 years at the time.
The view was great, everywhere you looked you could see mountains full of green trees.
After leaving Machu Picchu we got to the little nearby village of Aqua Calientes.
Unfortunately we did not have time to go the their Hot Springs as we had to catch the train back to Cuszo ...
